Critical Reflection

  Module Learning: At the beginning of this module, my goals were to enhance my critical thinking skills and refine my communication abilities. Looking back, I can confidently say this academic journey has been a transformative experience. In terms of critical thinking, I initially struggled with breaking down complex concepts and understanding them. Some examples were the topics and articles I found online when sourcing for a topic to do in both reader response and technical project. But through the active participation in discussions and learning of course materials. I have nurtured a more analytical approach. For example, one was from the instructional units of reader response, it wrote that “In order to understand a text well, we have to highlight the key points of the text’. Another would be using the Paul Elder elements of thoughts which were the 7 questions in mind. This process not only expanded my understanding of the module but also strengthened my critical thinking process.

Grading for class participation

  I believe that I am deserving of an excellent grade. In this module, I have consistently made an effort to be punctual ensuring my presence for every class. I have always submitted my assignments promptly. My activeness and enthusiasm in class has always been displayed frequently, answering the professor questions when asked.  In group discussions, I consistently took the initiative to start the conversation as well as contributing constructive feedback to enhance the group discussion. When my peers were presenting, I actively listened to my peers, paying close attention to the information shared. This not only demonstrates my respect for them but also provides me the opportunity to pick up good presentation skill sets from my peers. Additionally, I take my professor and classmates' feedback with serious intent and utilise it to my advantage in order to help improve my communication skills. 

Contributions to technical research project

Researched on the background information specifically the history of the robot cleaner using wikipedia. Delegated research topic parts to group members, ensuring completion prior to our group meeting for enhanced efficiency. Spoke on behalf of the team whenever the prof needs an individual in the team to share the ideas that the team has discussed. Researched on the omni wheel using google as part of the proposed solution needed for our product.

  The Mi Robot Vacuum-Mop 2 is an autonomous floor-cleaning robot, designed to vacuum and mop(Eren & Doğan, 2022). The research focused primarily on evaluating its cleaning ability, specifically its cleaning strength and its effectiveness in cleaning hard-to-clean areas. The cleaning strength is determined by three features: the suction mechanism, which creates a vacuum to attract dirt to its dustbin(Asafa et.al, 2018); the pressurised mop, which uses pressure to mop the floor with a cloth eliminating water stains , and the fibre brush which sweeps up dust(Mi, n.d.). The effectiveness of its ability to clean hard-to-clean parts is then determined by the side brushes and its manoeuvrability. The side brush kicks up dirt to direct it into the vacuum area and is evaluated on how well it cleans along edges and tight spaces(Layton, n.d.), while its manoeuvrability is more complex, being assessed by multiple aspects.
